Happy Tanabata Evening!

from Fumiyo Yoshikawa

July7th is called "Tanabata" in Japanese.
People make a wish by writing it on tanzaku, a piece of paper and tying it on a brunch of a bamboo.

Greetings from Home Shelter

Dear Friends,

I hope this finds you and your family safe and healthy in this uncertain time.

I have been at home and spending most of time painting, practicing sumi-e and calligraphy, and learning new things.

I am planning to start online classes after Spring term if this shelter in place situation continue.
If you need individual consultations for your sumi-e and/or calligraphy, we can set up a private session using Facetime, Skype or Zoom. Feel free to contact me if you wold like to have one.

The image is a peacock bird who is considered a sacred bird because they eat pests like centipedes and scorpions hoping the coronavirus is repulsed.Hope you enjoy it.

Warmest reagards,

Fumiyo Yoshikawa
