Alameda County Art Collection, Alameda County, CA

Many Thanks.

Alameda County Arts Commission has approved the purchase of artworks of Fumiyo Yoshikawa, a set of 5 pieces “Organic Mind #6 - #10” through the 2015 Alameda County Purchase Program and the artworks will be part of Alameda County Arts Collection. Between late 2015 and mid 2016 each piece will be newly framed and planned to be installed in a couple of the county buildings, Dublin County Clerk-Recorder’s Office and 1111 Jackson St. Building.

Background Information

Four Artwork Selection Committees met in late June to review the application materials and images from 427 Alameda County artists; more than 3,400 individual artworks were submitted for consideration. As described in the Call for Artwork, this project involves a two stage selection process. During Phase One, Artwork Selection Committees reviewed the submitted artwork in relationship to the selection criteria, program goals, and artwork locations. During the week of July 20th the Selection Committees reconvened to review the original artwork by 73 artists. The Selection Committees chose 124 works by 51 artists.
